Discussing Design Presentation
What I did
I created this presentation for our company meetup in Tokyo of 2024. Drawing insights from the book Discussing Design, I laid out a framework to transform how our team and organization approaches design, feedback, critique and collaboration.
Why it mattered
Our design team lacked a structured feedback and iteration process. While we produced good work, we needed guard rails and guiding principles to achieve design excellence. More importantly, I wanted our team to model effective communication and critique practices that could inspire the broader organization.
The impact
I've now delivered it three times across different company contexts, successfully elevating design's profile within Discourse. While not perfect, the patterns laid out here now guide our weekly design sessions and have helped establish a culture of thoughtful critique throughout the organization.
